Industry Appreciation Awards
An awards ceremony at the intersection of business and community.
Identity system, art direction, and brand development for Lee County's flagship business awards program and 2021 event. Working alongside a team of marketers and brand strategists in and outside of the agency, we were challenged to evolve the IAA brand into a timeless and versatile system that more closely aligns with the visual identities of its governing organizations. Accessibility and communication were the pillars of our design focus, informing the use of weighty lines that retain visibility at scale and grid-based typographic layouts. Geometric elements in the organizations' logos were reinterpreted into the core brand mark in the form of open, interwoven circles. To ground the concept, elements of community were channeled through vibrant photography of county landmarks, businesses, and the Fort Myers cityscape, emboldened by a lush tropical palette of yellow and deep green.

The visual identities of the Awards' governing bodies, three business-focused organizations founded by the Lee County Government, were integrated into the core structure of the new brand mark. In addition to geometric elements, the shared palette of these organizations was brought forward and refined for greater consistency.
